The Poundbury Quilters, Monday 22 November, 2010

Three new members joined today. The group is growing.
We had a demonstration of the Japanese folded block and its possibilities.
Food:  Leek, mushroom and cheese pie (Greek style, with filo pastry) accompanied by raw carrots and plenty of political discourse….if only we were in power, the world would be a better place!
My husband complained that he couldn’t find a spare chair to sit on!
From now on, we will have demonstrations twice a month.

Monday 15 November 2010

We met as usual. Our meeting place was full of sunshine; the colours of the materials with which we were working took on a life of their own.
Marion Murray, an experienced teacher,  gave a tutorial on folded blocks.
It is interesting how the same block made by different people in various colours  reveals an individual  sense of design.
Jane Alexander brought along a Friendship Cake. I had never heard of this tradition before.  The cake was delicious.

The Poundbury Quilters, Welcome Message

Welcome to The Poundbury Quilters!

The Poundbury Quilters, which was founded in July 2010, has been meeting in members' houses and will continue to do so until the end of 2010.

From Monday, 10 January, 2011, meetings will be held at the Poundbury Campus of Weymouth College, where space and facilities are ideal for our purposes.

Whether you are new to quilting, or an experienced quilter, you will be made most welcome.

Our Christmas party will take place at the Poundbury Garden Center on Monday, 13 December, 2010, at 11 am.
